Ibanez make some solid bass guitars and new for 2016 is the Premium SR Ash Walnut model. It's loud, thumpy and aggressive, oh yeah.
All the controls you could possibly need access to are right at your fingertips on this bass. In addition to the volume dial you get mid/bass/treble boost/cut knobs, a tone balancer, a 3 way mid freq selector and an EQ bypass switch. Once you've learned how each one changes your tone you can make radical changes live on stage or in the studio whether you're direct to the PA or using an amp.
