The 1978 Fender Telecaster in Natural finish is a classic late-CBS-era Tele that has developed a strong following over the years. While 1970s Fenders were once criticized for inconsistent quality and heavier weights, many players now appreciate them for their distinctive feel, tone, and vintage character.
- Body: Typically ash, finished in clear natural polyester to showcase the grain. Ash was commonly used on Natural-finish Teles of this period.
- Neck: One-piece maple neck with either a maple or rosewood fingerboard.
